OU Soccer Announces Fall 2022 Schedule

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head soccer coach Mark Carr announced the team's 2022 fall schedule Wednesday.

The Sooners will play 19 regular-season contests, highlighted by eight home matches.

Following an exhibition match in Frisco, Texas, against Texas State at 7 p.m. CT on Aug. 12 at Toyota Stadium, the home of FC Dallas, the Sooners will open their regular season Aug. 18 at John Crain Field in Norman versus Houston at 7 p.m.

Oklahoma heads to Lincoln, Neb., for a non-conference match with the Huskers on Sun., Aug. 21 at 1 p.m.

The Sooners then welcome in defending SEC champion Arkansas for an exciting matchup at John Crain on Thurs., Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.

OU hits the road for matches at Oklahoma State (Aug. 28) and North Texas (Sept. 1), each at 7 p.m. in Stillwater and Denton, respectively.

After a return to Norman to face SMU on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., the Sooners play five straight away games beginning with a pair of matches in Tulsa versus Tulsa (Sept. 8) and Oral Roberts (Sept. 11). The team then heads east for matches against East Tennessee State and Murray State on Sept. 15 and 18, respectively, to round out the non-conference schedule.

Conference play begins Fri., Sept. 23 vs. Baylor in Waco at 7 p.m. CT. The Sooners went 4-5 in Big 12 play a season ago, winning four of their last five matches in conference competition.

Three straight home matches versus Big 12 foes highlight the end of September and early October, including Bedlam in Norman. Iowa State comes to town Sept. 29 before the Sooners play host to Texas Tech Sun., Oct. 2. Bedlam in Norman will be Thurs., Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.

A road swing to the Sunflower State comes next with matches at Kansas (Oct. 13) and Kansas State (Oct. 16) at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

The Sooners close the regular season with a trio of competitive matches versus some of the Big 12's best. OU welcomes TCU on Oct. 20 and West Virginia on Oct. 23 before finishing the regular season in Austin on Oct. 27 against Texas.

The Big 12 Soccer Championship is set for Oct. 30-Nov. 6 in Round Rock, Texas, and the NCAA Tournament's first round is scheduled for the following week at campus sites.

The Sooners' schedule features four teams that made the 2021 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.

Season- and single-game tickets for the 2022 season will go on sale at a later date this summer.

The Sooners will welcome 14 new faces to the roster in 2022, highlighted by a highly-touted freshman class and four impact transfers in Brooke Amos (Rogers State), Emma Hawkins (Central Arkansas), Taylor Hunter (North Texas) and Makinzie Short (Nebraska).
