Moser Adds Transfer Bamisile
May 09, 2022 | Men's Basketball
NORMAN – Oklahoma men's basketball head coach Porter Moser announced the addition of George Washington transfer Joe Bamisile Monday.
"Joe is a proven three-level scorer at this level," said Moser. "He has a midrange game, can score at the rim and from three. He is extremely athletic and has the wingspan and frame to be an elite defender. I am excited to have him join our OU family."
Bamisile, a 6-4 guard from Chesterfield, Va., attended George Washington during the 2021-22 season and was named Atlantic 10 All-Conference Third Team. He appeared in 30 games and started 29, averaging 16.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in 31.3 minutes per game. Bamisile shot 45.8% from the floor and 35.1% from beyond the arc.
He finished fourth in the A-10 in scoring and ranked third in field goal attempts (413) and fourth in field goals made (189). Bamisile scored 20-plus points 12 times and tied for the conference lead in 20-plus point games.
Prior to his one season at GW, Bamisile spent his freshman season at Virginia Tech. He appeared in 13 games and averaged 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest.
Bamisile was a four-star prospect out of Monacan High School and 78th on the ESPN100 rankings for the 2020 class.
With his addition to the 2022-23 roster, the Sooners will have four ESPN100 players, including C.J. Noland (98, 2021), Milos Uzan (53, 2022) and Otega Oweh (72, 2022).
