OU Looks To Earn Final Four Spot vs. Texas A&M

The Sooners (30-2) will travel to Champaign, Ill., to battle the Aggies (33-1) on Friday, May 20 at 4 p.m. (CT).
LAST TIME OUT
OU met Stanford for the second time in program history on May 13 in the Round of 16. The Sooners came out strong in doubles, with Dana Guzman and Emma Staker taking the first court 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. On court two, Layne Sleeth and Alexandra Pisareva clinched the opening point 7-5, sending the match to singles. No. 10 Ivana and Carmen Corley were up 6-5 after coming back from 4-0 deficit at the top court. With the 1-0 lead, Ivana Corley notched the first singles win at the No. 3 spot, defeating Angelica Blake 6-4, 6-4. Stanford avoided the sweep with a 7-5, 6-0 court-six win from Sara Choy over Emma Staker. The Sooners went on two claim the following two courts. No. 53 Carmen Corley took down No. 23 Alexandra Yepifanova in an intense 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) fashion on court two. To punch Oklahoma's ticket to the Elite Eight, Dana Guzman bounced back from a 3-1 set-two deficit against India Houghton to clinch the the 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 4 spot.
TRACKING TEXAS A&M
The Aggies are making their second NCAA quarterfinals appearance in program history and are 32-26 all-time in the national tournament. Under head coach Mark Weaver, the recent SEC Champions are 11-5 in the NCAA tournament. Oklahoma is 0-3 when facing Texas A&M. In the rankings, No. 8 Carson Branstine, No. 24 Tatiana Makarova and No. 74 Mary Stoiana represent the Aggies in singles, while No. 6 Jayci Goldsmith/Tatiana Makarova and No. 47 Carson Branstine/Mary Stoiana highlight the team in doubles.
