Sooners Drop Series Finale at OSU

STILLWATER, Okla. – Peyton Graham homered and drove in two runs, but the Oklahoma baseball team fell at No. 4 Oklahoma State 9-4 Sunday afternoon in the Bedlam Big 12 series finale at O'Brate Stadium.
The Sooners (18-12, 4-5 Big 12) scored three runs in the seventh inning, cutting into its 8-0 deficit, before Graham homered in the ninth inning. OSU (23-9, 7-2 Big 12) took an early lead with three runs in the second inning, and added two runs in the fourth and sixth, and one run in the fifth and eighth innings.
"(Our players are) competitive and they have some grit," Oklahoma head coach Skip Johnson said. "We're still learning, and I guarantee you we'll be better at the end."
In the OU seventh, Cade Horton hit a leadoff double and scored on an error off the bat of Trent Brown, who later scored on an RBI groundout by Graham. Tanner Tredaway then knocked a single up the middle, scoring Jackson Nicklaus. Graham's two-out solo home run in the ninth inning was his eighth homer of the season.
OSU scored in the second inning on a three-run home run by Nolan McLean and in the fourth inning on a double by Aidan Meola and a single by Jake Thompson. After a wild pitch scored a run in the fifth, a single by Griffin Doersching and a fielder's choice plated two in the sixth, and Zac Ehrhard singled a run in the eighth.
Both starters – OSU's Bryce Osmond (2-1) and OU's Chazz Martinez (2-3) – factored into the decision.
The Sooners travel to Amarillo, Texas, for a non-conference contest against Texas Tech on Tuesday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
