Spring Game, Mayfield Statue Unveil Set for April 23

NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced that the Sooners' 2022 Spring Game will be held Saturday, April 23 at 3 p.m. CT at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The day will also feature the public dedication of Baker Mayfield's Heisman Trophy statue at halftime of the game. The statue will be unveiled at Heisman Park immediately east of the stadium, but the ceremony with Mayfield will be held on Owen Field. The statue reveal will be shown on the stadium video boards. No stadium pass-outs will be issued, meaning fans who leave the stadium will not be readmitted that day.

Immediately after the game, organized photo opportunities at Mayfield's statue will be available to fans.

"The love and support from Sooner Nation since my family stepped off the plane in Norman has been absolutely phenomenal," said Brent Venables, who was hired Dec. 5 as OU's 23rd head football coach. "We were quickly reminded about how incredibly passionate our fan base is, and we truly appreciate that unbridled enthusiasm – it's one of the many things that makes OU Football so special. I can't wait to see that passion on display on April 23rd, and my challenge to the fans is to fill up the stadium. As we say all the time inside our walls, 'Best is the standard.' Let's pack the Palace and make it a great day for everyone."

In 2017, Mayfield became the sixth of seven Sooners to win the Heisman Trophy when he passed for 4,627 yards and 43 touchdowns, and led OU to a Big 12 title and the College Football Playoff.

"I'm a Sooner for life and incredibly grateful for all of the success my teammates and I had at OU," said Mayfield, who was a two-time first-team All-American. "It's humbling and surreal to think about having a statue in iconic Heisman Park. I can't wait to be back in Norman and reunite with the most passionate fans in college football."

TICKET INFORMATION

Season Ticket Holders & Donors
Tickets for OU football season ticket holders and Sooner Club members cost $10 each. Season ticket holders and Sooner Club members must log in to their online account to order. MidFirst Bank East Club, Valero South Champions Club and Santee Lounge season ticket holders will have access to purchase general admission tickets within their respective club(s) for $10 each. Suite and loge box holders will be able to reserve their complimentary suite and loge box tickets via a separate RSVP process that will be outlined by email in the coming days.

General Public
Tickets for non-season ticket holders are $15 for general admission bowl seating and $25 for any remaining general admission Club or general admission Santee Lounge seating.

PARKING

The Field House, East Suite Reserved and Heisman parking lots will be reserved for loge and suite holders. All other parking lots/facilities will be free to the public and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

PARTY AT THE PALACE

OU will hold its "Party at the Palace presented by Allstate" pregame fan festival on the lawn immediately north of the stadium starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. Many of the usual Party at the Palace elements will be featured, including a variety of food trucks (Audrey's Tacos, Bondi Bowls, Kona Ice, Midway Deli and The Meating Place), interactive games and music.

BROADCAST INFORMATION

The Spring Game will be streamed live on SoonerSports.tv (subscription required) and re-air on Bally Sports Oklahoma and Bally Sports Southwest at 10:30 p.m. CT the day of the game, as well as on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT on Bally Sports Oklahoma. The April 22-24 Sooners For Life Spring Weekend is dedicated to connecting and celebrating former OU student-athletes. This year's programming will include a golf tournament, an evening reception, a pre- and post-Spring Game event, as well as the opportunity to attend the Spring Game.
