NORMAN – Oklahoma soccer and head coach Mark Carr announced Monday the addition of Elizabeth and Rami Rapp to the 2022 signing class.
The Rapp sisters come to Norman from Evergreen Senior High School in Evergreen, Colo., and will join the Sooners in the fall of 2022.
Head Coach Mark Carr on the signings of Elizabeth and Rami Rapp: "We're really excited to welcome both Rami and Eli into our OU soccer family. I see great potential in both of them. They are both driven young women, excited for this opportunity, hungry to improve and contribute to what we are building here at OU. I know they each possess the relentless work ethic, competitiveness and desire to help take our program where we want to go."
OU Assistant Coach David Gough on signings of Elizabeth and Rami Rapp: "We're delighted to welcome Elizabeth, Rami and their family to Norman and it's super exciting to know they will be joining us in for the fall of 2022. The Rapp family is a through and through real soccer family - everyone plays, supports, lives, sleeps and breathes soccer.
"Eli Rapp is a super dynamic and tenacious wide player who is just as impressive both sides of the ball. Her mentality helps her stand out and it's almost as if she was born to thrive in our culture. High challenge, high support, Eli is a student-athlete who has always excelled in the classroom and will always rise to any challenge on the pitch.
"Rami is a gifted midfield player who has 'the eye'. She has a technical range that sets her apart and she sees passes others don't. Again, at her best when she has a point to prove. Rami knows what it takes to prove herself and she is a player who really has no ceiling. When she applies herself as we know she can the sky is the limit."
Eli Rapp on signing with Oklahoma Soccer: "The reason I choose to commit to play soccer at the University of Oklahoma is because the program will provide me an opportunity to prove myself in a high-level collegiate division and it's something I am so excited for because I get to play with and compete against other elite athletes. Due to the commitment of the coaching staff and the players, OU soccer will be a challenge, a lifestyle, and a family that I want to be a part of."
Rami Rapp on signing with Oklahoma Soccer: "The reason that I chose to play soccer at The University of Oklahoma is because I love the culture that Coach Carr and the rest of the staff are trying to create. I think that OU is an amazing university that will challenge me and push me to be the best version of myself. The women's soccer program is one that I can see myself thriving in and becoming the best student-athlete I can possibly be. Coach Carr and the Oklahoma soccer team seem like such a family, and they are a program that I can compete at and be on a team striving for greatness together. I value hard work more than anything and the OU women's soccer team is a team that works harder than anyone else, and I was drawn to this amazing program and all the things I could accomplish with them. Boomer Sooner!"
