Sooners, Golden Lions Clash Friday

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's basketball continues its homestand to open the season with a matchup against Arkansas - Pine Bluff on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center.
OU has won the previous two meetings against UAPB, including a 70-point victory over the Golden Lions in 2003. The 70-point win is the fourth largest margin of victory in program history and the largest since 2000.
Five Sooners made their debut in the Crimson and Cream in the season opener. Grant Sherfield recorded a team-high 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the floor and finished 2-for-3 from deep.
Tanner and Jacob Groves each recorded 11 points and the elder Groves wrangled a team-best nine boards.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN LIONS
- Arkansas - Pine Bluff is under the direction of Soloman Bozeman, who is in his second year at the helm. UAPB opened the season against TCU on Nov. 7, falling to the Horned Frogs 75-74. The Golden Lions beat Champion Christian 87-55 for their first victory of the season.
- Shaun Doss Jr. averages a team-best 21.5 points per contest and is the team leader in field goal percentage (51.6%) and 3-point percentage (66.7%). Kylen Milton boasts 8.0 assists per game and Ismael Plet controls the boards, averaging 10.0 rebounds per contest.
CRIMSON AND CREAM DEBUT
- Grant Sherfield, Joe Bamisile, Milos Uzan, Sam Godwin and Otega Oweh donned the Crimson and Cream for the first time on Monday, Nov. 7 against Sam Houston. Sherfield earned the start and scored a team-high 14 points. C.J. Noland joined Sherfield in the starting lineup for the first time in his career.
LAST MEETING: UAPB
- Oklahoma earned the 94-24 victory against Arkansas - Pine Bluff on Dec. 2, 2003 and moved to 4-0 to start the 2003-04 season.
- The 70-point victory is the fourth largest in program history and the largest such victory since 2000. The 24 points was the lowest total by and Oklahoma opponent since the 1946-47 season when it held Warrensburg to 21 points in a 49-21 victory.
- Oklahoma held the Lions to nine points in the first half and entered halftime up 48-9. UAPB finished with only nine field goals and shot 21% (9 of 44) from the field.
