NORMAN – After hosting two Big 12 foes ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll, Oklahoma (12-7, 2-5 Big 12) travel to West Virginia (13-5, 2-4 Big 12) for a clash with the Mountaineers Wednesday at WVU Coliseum.
It will be the 24th meeting between the two programs with the Sooners wining the last four.
In Morgantown last season, Oklahoma won a double-overtime thriller 91-90 behind 28 points by
Austin Reaves.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- West Virginia (13-5, 2-4 Big 12) opened Big 12 play with a 74-59 loss to then-No. 17 Texas before winning a pair of games over Kansas State (71-68) Jan. 8 and Oklahoma State (70-60) Jan. 11. Both wins were at WVU Coliseum. WVU enters the clash with OU on a three-game losing streak and has loses against then-No. 9 Kansas, then-No. 5 Baylor and then-No. 18 Texas Tech.
- Taz Sherman is West Virginia's team leader in points (322), points per game (18.9), assists (45) and assists per game (2.6). Sean McNeil (14.0 PPG) joins Sherman as the only two Mountaineers to average double-digit points this season.
- West Virginia is 25th in the NCAA in turnover margin (3.9) and 28th in turnovers forced per game (16.4). WVU is second in the Big 12 and 31st nationally in blocked shots per game (5.1).
WEST VIRGINIA VS. OKLAHOMA TIDBITS
- Oklahoma and West Virginia are slated to meet for the 24th time Wednesday. OU holds a 14-9 record against WVU and are 5-4 in games played in Morgantown.
- In two games last season against WVU, Umoja Gibson finished 17-for-29 (58.6%) shooting from the field and 13-for-21 (61.9%) from three, and averaged 24.0 points per game.
- Gibson's 29 points in the first meeting against West Virginia Jan. 2, 2021 are a career-high in the Crimson and Cream and were the second-highest point total by a Sooner last season. He finished the contest 10-for-14 from the field and 8-for-11 from three.
- Austin Reaves and WVU's Derek Culver were both named to the 2021 All-Big 12 First Team. Reaves is member of the Los Angeles Lakers and averages 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
LAST MEETING: AT WEST VIRGINIA
- Austin Reaves helped then-No. 12 Oklahoma (13-5, 8-4 Big 12) top then-No. 14 West Virginia (14-6, 7-4 Big 12) 91-90 in double overtime.
- Reaves led OU with 28 points and scored four in the final minute of the second overtime. He added nine rebounds and seven assists in the victory. Umoja Gibson added 21 points and Elijah Harkless 12.
- The Sooners held a 66-57 lead with six minutes left in regulation but the Mountaineers staged a comeback to force overtime and a second overtime period behind Derek Culver's 10th double-double of the season.
