NORMAN – No. 14 Oklahoma (15-2, 4-1) hits the road for a two-game homestand that starts with a Jan. 19 matchup with West Virginia (8-6, 1-3) in Morgantown, W.Va. The Sooners have won 12 of their last 13 games with wins over then-No. 16 BYU and then-No. 14 Baylor in that stretch. OU's 15-2 start is the best for the program since 2006-07 when the team started 17-1 and the Sooners are 4-1 in conference play for the first time in five years.

The game will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Nick Farrell and Meg Bulger on the call, and will air on the Sooner Radio Network on KOKC 1520 AM and KREF 99.3 FM/1400 AM with Chris Plank calling the action.

THE STARTING FIVE

  • The Sooners jumped nine spots in the Jan. 17 AP Top 25 poll, leaping from No. 23 to No. 14, which marks the largest single-week jump in the AP poll in school history. The previous mark belonged to the 2004 OU squad who moved up eight spots after winning the Big 12 tournament. OU enters Wednesday's contest ranked inside the top 15 for the first time since Nov. 28, 2016.

  • The Sooners have used the Sooner Magic to comeback from double-digit deficits four times this season, including twice vs. ranked opponents. Down 19 points in the second half of the Utah game, the Sooners outscored the Utes 32-14 in the fourth quarter to secure the fourth-largest comeback in program history. That performance followed the win over then-No. 16 BYU when OU erased a 10-point deficit to knock off the Cougars in overtime. The Sooners came back from 16 points down at Kansas to post the fourth-largest comeback ever vs. a Big 12 opponent. Most recently, OU erased multiple 10-point deficits to knock off No. 14 Baylor in Norman on Jan. 12.

  • In their last time out, the Sooners took sole possession of second place in the Big 12 on Saturday by beating TCU, 100-71. The Sooners' 100 points scored are the second most for the program in a Big 12 game. OU had its most efficient game of the season offensively, shooting 53.6% (37-69) from the field to mark a season-high in field-goal percentage while tying its high mark for made field goals. The Sooners, who lead the country in assists per game with 20.4, dished out 26 vs. TCU led by Robertson's seven dimes. The Sooners sunk 11 3-pointers in the win, marking the 11th time in 17 games the team has hit double-digit treys – two more than anyone else in the country. The win marked the 15th win of the season for Oklahoma as the Sooners reached 15 wins faster than any team in program history in terms of the calendar date.

  • Oklahoma's high-powered offensive attack is one of the best in the country and on pace to be the best in program history. OU's 88.4 points per game rank second nationally and first in the league as the attack is powered by D1-best 20.8 assists per game. Taylor Robertson (18.1 PPG) and Madi Williams (18.6) make Oklahoma the only team in the Big 12 and one of four teams nationally to land two scorers that average of 18.0 points per game. Robertson leads the country in both 3-pointers made (73) and 3P% (49.3%) as OU has hit double-digit treys a nation-leading 11 times this year.

  • The Sooners are 4-0 on the road this season and have won seven straight in opponent's gyms dating back to last year, with two of those wins (South Dakota and Kansas) coming vs. teams ranked inside of the NET's top 40. OU is one of 13 teams to have an unblemished record on the road this season and its seven-game road winning streak is the fifth-longest in the country and second-longest among P5 schools.

SERIES HISTORY

Wednesday's meeting marks the 23rd all-time between the Sooners and Mountaineers, with Oklahoma holding a narrow 12-10 advantage. The Sooners have won four of the last five meetings and been victorious in each of the last four meetings in Morgantown dating back to 2017. In the series' most recent contest, OU knocked off No. 19/21 WVU 72-71 in Morgantown.
