NORMAN — University of Oklahoma women's gymnast Anastasia Webb was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Third Team, the organization announced Friday.
Webb, a health, medicine and society major and three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection, claimed the honor after posting a 3.39 GPA in 2020-21. Webb is the sixth OU gymnast to earn Academic All-America honors and the first since 2014.
As a senior, Webb was named the Honda Sport Award Winner for gymnastics before being named a Top Three Finalist for the Honda Cup. A three-time individual national champion in 2021, Webb was just the ninth gymnast in NCAA history to earn three titles in one season. Her three individual crowns rank her third all-time at OU. The Morton Grove, Ill., native claimed the all-around, vault and floor national championships with one of her best performances of the season.
The 2021 Big 12 Gymnast of the Year, Region 4 Gymnast of the Year and an AAI Finalist, Webb helped lead Oklahoma to an NCAA runner-up finish in her senior season and was the only gymnast in the nation to earn first-team All-America accolades on all four events and in the all-around. Webb finished her career with 20 All-America honors to her name to rank second in OU history.
The 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I At-Large Teams recognize student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The three teams feature 18 members with a 4.0 GPA and 29 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes.
