Screen Named Honorable Mention All-American

June 14, 2021 | Women's Golf

NORMANHannah Screen was named an honorable mention All-American by Golfweek, the publication announced over the weekend.

"I'm really pleased to get an honorable mention for the All-American team," Screen said. "It shows that the program is heading in the right direction and I'm happy to be part of that. I'm sure that there will be many more Sooners receiving recognition in the future."

Screen registered one of the best seasons in program history in 2020-21, posting a 71.43 scoring average over 24 rounds which marks the second-lowest single-season average in program history. The junior played 71 percent of her rounds at-or-under par, the highest single-season percentage ever for the OU women's team.

The London, U.K., product joins recent OU graduate Kaitlin Milligan as the only other golfer to score even-or-better versus par in a season, as Milligan did so by posting a -0.30 score versus par in 2020. The 2021 All-Big 12 honoree became the first All-American selection or honoree since 2014, when the program tallied three players on the list.

"Hannah had a great year for us and she's very deserving of the honor," head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. "She works so hard and is a great leader for our program, so it's rewarding to see her get this accolade."

Screen powered the Sooners to five top-five finishes in 2021, tallying five top-five placements individually and a team-high 10 rounds in the 60s. Oklahoma finished the season with a 289.43 scoring average, the second-lowest in program history. Drouin-Luttrell's teams are responsible for the 12 lowest scoring averages in the OU annals.
