NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head women's basketball coach Jennie Baranczyk announced the signing of University of North Carolina guard transfer Kennady Tucker to a financial aid agreement Tuesday.
The 5-10 Tucker, who was regarded as one of the nation's top recruits as a senior in 2018-19 at North Little Rock High School in Little Rock, Ark., contributed 58 points, 48 rebounds, 34 assists and 20 steals in 13.1 minutes per game in 37 career contests at North Carolina. She played in all 30 games (averaged 14.0 minutes) as a freshman in 2019-20.

"We are thrilled to have Kennady join this amazing team and program," said Baranczyk, who was hired at OU on April 10 after coaching Drake to a 192-96 record the last nine years. "She brings experience, length and athleticism, as well as a love for the game. She really fits our up-tempo style of play and will be an incredible addition to our chemistry. We couldn't be more excited that Kennady is a Sooner."
All Star Girls Report ranked Tucker as the No. 25 overall player in the 2019 recruiting class, while Prospect Nation rated her No. 45 overall and the seventh-best guard.
Playing both point guard and shooting guard for the Lady Charging Cats, the two-time all-state selection and four-time all-conference honoree averaged career highs of 12.6 points, 4.3 rebounds 2.8 assists and 2.9 steals as a senior in 2018-19. Tucker helped her squad to a Class 7A state title as a junior and to a state runner-up finish as a sophomore. She finished her career with 1,120 points, 423 rebounds, 267 assists and 188 steals.
