Bedlam Matchup Set for Big 12 Championship

NORMAN – Oklahoma will face Oklahoma State in a primetime Bedlam matchup to begin the 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Big 12 championship bracket was revealed Saturday night.
 
The Sooners (27-26, 11-13 Big 12), which won three of their last four conference series to close out the regular season, is the No. 5 seed in the Big 12 Baseball Championship, set for May 25-30 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. OU was picked to finish fifth in the preseason Big 12 coaches poll.
 
Oklahoma will open the double elimination tournament against fourth-seeded Oklahoma State (32-16-1, 12-12 Big 12) in the final game of the first round on Wednesday. Tickets are available at Big12Sports.com/BuyTickets.
 
Wednesday's contest will be the sixth Bedlam matchup of the season. OU won two of three games in the Big 12 conference series, but OSU won three of the five contests during the regular season.
 
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are matched with No. 1-seed Texas, No. 8-seed West Virginia and No. 9-seed Kansas. The Mountaineers and Jayhawks play a single elimination game at 6 p.m. Tuesday, with the winner facing Texas at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
 
On the other side of the bracket, No. 3-seed Texas Tech will face No. 6-seed Baylor at 9 a.m. Wednesday and No. 2-seed TCU will play No. 7-seed Kansas State at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
