Trio of Future Sooners Named to Development National Team

NORMAN - Future Sooners and members of the 2021 signing class Jordan Bowers, Moorea Linker and Danielle SieversĀ wrapped up their level 10 careers by earning a spotĀ on the 2021 USA Gymnastics Development Program National Team.

The trio competed at the 2021 USA Gymnastics Development Program National Championships in Dayton Beach, Fla., May 13-16, all finishing in the top four in the all-around in their respective age divisions. Those placements earned them spots on the Development Program National Team and an invitation to attend a training camp in Indianapolis.Ā 

A former elite gymnast, Bowers competed in the Senior E division, placing third in the all-around with a 38.650. A native of Lincoln, Neb., Bowers placed second on both bars (9.80) and beam (9.575). She added two 13th-place finishes on vault (9.675) and floor (9.60).Ā 

Linker, competing in the Senior F division, placed third with an all-around score of 38.725. The Tampa, Fla., native also picked up top three finishes on vault and floor, earning a 9.85 on vault and a 9.775 on floor. Linker placed ninth on bars with a 9.70 and 16th on beam with a 9.40. Linker will be reunited with former teammate Julianne Fehring when she joins the Sooners in the fall.Ā 

Sievers placed fourth in the Senior D division with a 38.625 and picked up three top-five event finishes. A native of Gary, S.D., Sievers earned a second place finish on beam with a 9.50. She added a third place finish on floor with a 9.85 and a fifth-place finish on vault with a 9.750. Sievers also placed 15th on bars with a 9.525.

Bowers, Linker and Sievers will join the Sooners in the fall of 2021 with their first season of competition in 2022.Ā
