STILLWATER – The Sooners came away with a doubles victory and two singles wins as No. 19 Oklahoma men's tennis team fell to No. 22 Oklahoma State 4-2 Sunday in the final contest of the regular season.
The Sooners finish the regular season at 10-13 overall and 1-4 against the Big 12.
OU dropped the doubles point, but Jake Van Emburgh and Mason Beiler came away with a 6-2 rout of Etienne Donnet and Mathieu Scaglia on court three.
ITA No. 46 Alex Martinez and Nathan Han were defeated by OSU's Matej Vocel and Emile Hudd 6-2 at the top spot. Mark Mandlik and Max Stewart fell to Henrik Korsgaard and Dominik Kellovsky 6-4 on court two and the Cowboys took the point.
In singles, Martinez pushed his winning streak to six matches with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Korsgaard on court three.
On court two, No. 73 Beiler notched his third win over a ranked opponent this season with a 6-4, 6-3 win over No. 122 Emile Hudd.
Mandlik fell to Donnet 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 5 line. Hotard took Matisse Bobichon to a third set, but fell 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 on court six.
No. 123 Van Emburgh went the distance with No. 53 Matej Vocel, but fell 0-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 at the top spot.
When play was halted, Han was about to start a third set tiebreaker with Scaglia. The Sooner dropped the firsts set 6-3 before powering back to take the second 7-6 (2) and tying the third at 6-all.
