Sooners Fall at #4 Baylor

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's tennis team fell to No. 4 Baylor Friday in Waco. The Sooners took the doubles point off the Bears, but Baylor fired back in singles to claim the match.
OU opened the match with the doubles point. Nathan Han and Alex Martinez picked up their second victory over a ranked opponent as they downed No. 10 Constantin Frantzen and Sven Lah 6-2 at the top spot. Jake Van Emburgh and Matt Rodriguez clinched the point as they took out Charlie Broom and Matias Soto on court three 6-3.
On court two, Mason Beiler and Max Stewart fell to Adrian Boitan and Nick Stachowiak, 6-4.
In singles, Mark Mandlik fell to No. 74 Stachowiak 6-4, 6-0, on court four. No. 69 Beiler was defeated by No. 46 Boitan 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 line. Justin Schlageter fell to No. 103 Broom 7-5, 6-4 on court five.
When play was halted, Van Emburgh was locked in at 5-all in the second set with No. 56 Soto on court one after dropping the first set 6-3. Han led Baylor's Spencer Furman 3-2 in the second set on court six. Furman took the opening set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (2).
