ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Oklahoma baseball team fell to Texas A&M 8-1 Saturday evening in the Round Rock Classic at Dell Diamond.
The Sooners (3-3) scored a run in the top of the sixth when second baseman
Conor McKenna came home on an RBI fielder's choice, but could not overcome a seven-run first inning. The Aggies (4-3) scored seven runs in the first, taking advantage of four hits and four walks, and then added a run in the fourth.
McKenna went 2 for 4 with a single and a double in the game. His double to start the fourth inning was OU's first hit of the contest. He had another leadoff hit with a single in the sixth inning, then moved around to third on a fly out and a single by center fielder

Javier Ramos was the fourth of five relief pitchers for Oklahoma, and he turned in a terrific outing. He retired all eight batters faced over 2.2 innings, with three strikeouts.
Ben Abram started the second inning in relief of starter
Dalton Fowler (0-2) and went 2.2 frames with four strikeouts.
Carson Atwood (1.0 inning),
Tommy Lamb (0.1 inning) and
Brad Demco (0.1 inning) were also effective in holding the Aggies scoreless over the last four stanzas.
Texas A&M scored seven runs in the first inning on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly, consecutive singles by designated hitter Austin Bost and third baseman Zane Schmidt, a three-run home run by center fielder Logan Britt and a single by second baseman Bryce Blaum. Schmidt tripled in a run in the fourth inning to make it 8-0. Aggies starter Bryce Miller (1-0) allowed one hit and three walks with four strikeouts over 5.0 innings to earn the win.
The Sooners close out the Round Rock Classic against Baylor at 5 p.m. Sunday at Dell Diamond.
