NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's basketball team heads to Morgantown Satuday for the second game of the 2020-21 series with the Mountaineers. The game will tip at 6 p.m. CT inside WVU Coliseum.

ON THE AIR

Saturday's game will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

The contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KOKC 1420 AM in Oklahoma City; KREF 99.3 FM/1400 AM in Norman; TuneIn radio App) with Brian Brinkley calling the action.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • OU heads to West Virginia on Saturday for a 6 p.m. CT contest. The game, originally slated for Sunday, was moved up due to expected inclement weather in the Norman area. OU will look to split the 2020-21 series with the Mountaineers after falling to WVU 90-72 in Norman on Jan. 3.

  • Oklahoma leads the all-time series with West Virginia 10-9. West Virginia leads in Morgantown, 5-2, but OU has won its last two games there. In the 2020 meeting in Morgantown, OU shocked then-No. 17 WVU with a dominant, 73-49 victory.

  • The last time the teams met, Madi Williams exploded for 45 points against the Mountaineers in Norman, setting a new program single-game record. The junior shot 17-for-30 (.567) from the floor, 3-for-7 (.429) from deep and 8-for-9 (.889) from the charity stripe. Williams nearly doubled her previous career high of 26 points as she accounted for 62.5% of Oklahoma's scoring on the contest.

  •  Oklahoma is the only team Big 12 team with three players averaging 15 points per game or more. Madi Williams is third with 21.7 PPG; Gabby Gregory is 12th at 15.7 PPG; and Taylor Robertson ranks 14th with an average 14.8 PPG. Additionally, the Sooners are the only squad with three players in the league's top 15.

  •  Junior Madi Williams has been named to the Dawn Staley Award late season watchlist, the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia announced Friday. The award is given to the most outstanding collegiate guard in the country; a player who exemplifies the skills that Staley possessed during her career (ball handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win). Williams is averaging 20.6 points per game to rank fourth in the Big 12 and 19th nationally. Her 48.6% (88-for-181) field goal percentage places her fifth among Big 12 players and first among the league's guards.
