Sooners Fall to Butler in Overtime

NORMAN – Elijah Harkless hit a 3-pointer with two second remaining to force overtime but Oklahoma (7-2, 0-0 Big 12) fell to Butler (6-3, 0-0 Big East) 66-62 in the Big East/Big 12 Battle Tuesday at Lloyd Noble Center.
A trio of Sooners, led by Harkless, finished with double-figure points. Harkless opened overtime with five points and finished the night with a team-best 16 points on 7-for-13 shooting. Tanner Groves and Jordan Goldwire each tallied 10 points.
With the score at 54-all, Harkless made a quick driving layup before Butler tied the score after a pair of free throws. Harkless drilled a 3-pointer and pushed Oklahoma back out front again.
Butler responded again with a layup by Aaron Thompson to cut the Oklahoma lead to one.
With 1:38 remaining, Goldwire splashed in a 3-pointer and put the Sooners up, 62-58.
Butler rattled off an 8-0 run to conclude the game.

Oklahoma travels to Tulsa to host Arkansas at the BOK Center Saturday, Dec. 11 at 12:30 p.m. (CT). The game will be available on ESPN2.
