NORMAN – The Oklahoma volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Iowa State, 25-23, 15-25, 18-25, 17-25, Friday night inside McCasland Field House.
The Sooners (10-12, 4-7 Big 12) were out-hit by the Cyclones (14-8, 6-5 Big 12) on a .279 to .132 clip on the night as Iowa State totaled 57 kills to Oklahoma's 37.
"Tomorrow, we definitely have some work to do," head coach
Lindsey Gray-Walton said. "We have to be able to respond. We get to play this game and we need to have a passion to the jersey that we have on. Tomorrow, our effort needs to be way better."
Megan Wilson led the Sooners with 14 kills on the night, followed by 13 from
Savannah Davison.
Peyton Dunn chipped in 31 assists on the night.

Callie Kemohah each tallied eight digs on the night with
Aysia Harty adding seven.
The Sooners totaled 8.0 blocks as a team with
Paige Anderson leading the way with five. Wilson added four with
Tyler Alcorn chipping in three.
In set one, Iowa State took an early 8-5 lead, but a kill from Anderson would pull the Sooners ahead 10-9. At the first timeout of the set, the Cyclones led 15-13. The Sooners pulled even at 19-all and a block from Wilson and Alcorn gave them a 21-20 lead. A kill from Davison clinched the first set for Oklahoma, 25-23.
In the second set, the Cyclones jumped out to an 8-2 lead forcing the Sooners to call timeout. Iowa State extended its lead late to 17-9, ultimately taking the set 25-15.
Iowa State held a 10-6 advantage early in the third set, but the Sooners fought back to get within one at 10-9. The Cyclones pulled back ahead by four, but Oklahoma made it a one-point match at 19-18. Iowa State used a 6-0 run to close out the third set, 25-18.
The Sooners held the early advantage in set four, 8-6. The teams traded points, pulling all square at 12-12, before Iowa State took a 14-12 lead. Iowa State used an 11-5 run to end the set, 25-17, and take the match.
The Sooners are back in action Saturday at 4 p.m. against Iowa State inside McCasland Field House.
