2022 Big 12 Baseball Conference Schedule Announced

NORMAN — Oklahoma's baseball conference schedule for the upcoming season has been unveiled with the Big 12 Conference announcement of the 2022 league slate on Thursday.

The Sooners will play home series at L. Dale Mitchell Park against Baylor, Texas, Kansas State and West Virginia. OU's road series will be against Oklahoma State, Kansas, TCU and Texas Tech.
  Oklahoma opens Big 12 play with consecutive home series against Baylor (March 25-27) and Texas (April 1-3). The Sooners won two of three games against the Bears last season in Waco and claimed the Sunday game against the Longhorns in Austin.
 
Bedlam will be in early April this year, as Oklahoma and Oklahoma State face off for three games April 8-10. OSU will be the home team for that series. OU won two of three games during the Big 12 series last year. Oklahoma's conference bye week falls the weekend of April 15-17.
 
The Sooners will be on the road April 22-24, facing Kansas in Lawrence, before returning home for a set against Kansas State at Mitchell Park April 29-May 1. OU has won seven of the last eight against Kansas and eight of the last 12 against K-State.
 
Oklahoma will play two of its last three series of the season on the road. The Sooners travel to Fort Worth to take on TCU May 6-8, before hosting West Virginia May 13-15 in Norman, and close out the regular season in Lubbock, Texas, facing Texas Tech May 19-21. OU holds all-time series leads against TCU (62-40), West Virginia (16-12) and Texas Tech (49-44-1).
 
The 2022 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship is scheduled for May 25-29 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The Sooners are in their fifth year under head coach Skip Johnson. OU returned 17 players to the team this year and welcomed 28 newcomers, including 13 freshmen and 13 junior college transfer and two transfers from four-year schools. Included among the returners are seven position players that saw action in at least four games last spring and seven pitchers that made at least three appearances last season.
