THE STARTING FIVE
- The Sooners enter Tuesday's contest fresh off a 101-89 win over Arkansas State in Norman. The 101-point outing marked the third time in the last five years that Oklahoma had crossed the 100-point threshold as six Sooners scored in double figures for the first time since a Jan. 24, 2018, win over Kansas. Madi Williams led the charge with 18, while Taylor Robertson and Ana Llanusa added 17 and 16, respectively. Freshman Emma Svoboda tallied 14 and a team-high nine rebounds, as Nevaeh Tot and Skylar Vann scored 10 apiece.
- The Sooners and Sugar Bears have met just twice with Oklahoma earning a win in both matchups, including a program-record 73-point win in 2007. In that 2007 game, the Sooners established an OU single-game points record with a 121-point outburst. The Sooners more recently won a 2018 contest by 13 points.Ā
- Baranczyk leads a roster that has combined for 442 career games played and over 12,500 minutes played at the Division I level. OU's three All-Big 12 seniors in Llanusa, Williams and Robertson are joined by five other returners, four freshmen and two transfers to comprise the 14-player roster.Ā
- The Sooners are led by a trio of seniors in Ana Llanusa, Taylor Robertson, and Madi Williams, who have each scored over 1,000 points in their OU careers. Oklahoma is the only school in the Big 12 Conference with three 1,000-point scorers and one of just six nationally (DePaul, Florida Gulf Coast, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Southern Illinois, Tennessee Tech). Those three all rank inside the Big 12's top 10 making Oklahoma the only school in the league with three in the top 10.Ā
- In the first edition of ESPN's Charlie Creme's NCAAW Bracketology, the Sooners are in the bracket as a No. 11 seed. The NCAA's Autumn Johnson tabbed Oklahoma as a No. 10 seed in her preseason bracketology. A staple of the NCAA postseason, Oklahoma has appeared in 21 NCAA Tournaments, including 19 since the turn of the century. The Sooners' 21 appearances in the tournament are the second most in the Big 12 Conference and tied for 23rd most in NCAA history.
