ON THE AIR

Friday's game will be available on Bally Sports SW with Chad McKee and Latricia Trammel on the call.Ā

The contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KOKC 1420 AM in Oklahoma City; KREF 99.3 FM/1400 AM in Norman; Varsity radio App) with Chris Plank calling the action.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • The Sooners and Red Wolves have met five times with Oklahoma holding a 4-1 series lead. OU currently owns a three-game winning streak dating back to 1994. The two teams haven't met since 2008, when Courtney Paris notched her 100th consecutive double-double and the Sooners won 87-57.Ā
  • The Sooners enter the contest under new head coach Jennie Baranczyk, who arrives in Norman after nine years at Drake where she led the Bulldogs to five MVC titles and six postseasons, including three NCAA Tournaments. Her teams ranked inside the nation's top 10 in scoring offense in five of the last six seasons.Ā The Sooners are coming off a thrilling 73-71 win on the road at South Dakota. The win marked the first of the Jennie Baranczyk era and snapped the Coyotes' 20-game home win streak that stretched over nearly two years. Madi Williams and Ana Llanusa each scored 19 points in the win, while senior sharpshooter Taylor Robertson added 17 of her own along with a team-high eight rebounds.
  • Baranczyk leads a roster that has combined for 431 career games played and boasts three All-Big 12 performers in Llanusa, Robertson and Williams. Those three seniors are joined by five other returners, four freshmen and two transfers to comprise the 14-player roster.
  • The Sooners are led by a trio of seniors in Ana Llanusa, Taylor Robertson and Madi Williams - all who have scored over 1,000 points in their OU careers. Oklahoma is the only school in the Big 12 Conference with three 1,000-point scorers, and one of just five nationally (DePaul, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Southern Illinois, Tennessee Tech).
  • In the first edition of ESPN's Charlie Creme's NCAAW Bracketology, the Sooners are in the bracket as a No. 11 seed. The NCAA's Autumn Johnson tabbed Oklahoma as a No. 10 seed in her preseason bracketology. A staple of the NCAA postseason, Oklahoma has appeared in 21 NCAA Tournaments, including 19 since the turn of the century. The Sooners' 21 appearances in the tournament are the second most in the Big 12 Conference and tied for 23rd most in NCAA history.

UP NEXT
