NORMAN — Oklahoma head women's basketball coach
Jennie Baranczyk and her staff announced the signing of four student-athletes Wednesday during early National Signing Day.
The four prep stars – Kayla Cooper, Beatrice Culliton, Kiersten Johnson and Reyna Scott – all signed National Letters of Intent to further their academic and athletic careers in Norman. It's the first full class of the Baranczyk era, as Baranczyk was named the ninth head coach in OU women's basketball history in April.
KAYLA COOPER | PLANO, TEXAS | 5-8 | GUARD
Cooper arrives in Norman after a decorated career at Plano East (Texas) High School where she led her team to the regional tournament. Rated as one of the top-10 prospects in Texas by Texas Prep Girls Hoops, Cooper was the District 9-6A newcomer and 2019 and owns a pair of All-District selections.
BEATRICE CULLITON | OVERLAND PARK, KAN. | 6-3 | FORWARD
Culliton, one of the country's top post players, joins the Sooners from St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.) High School. Graded as a four-star prospect and the No. 12 post in the 2022 class, Culliton was the only player in the state of Kansas to average a double-double in 2020, earning a first-team All-State selection and another first-team honor last season. The No. 49 overall prospect is a finalist for the DiRenna Award, given annually to the top girl's basketball player in Kansas City.
KIERSTEN JOHNSON | DALLAS, TEXAS | 6-3 | FORWARD
Johnson, a four-star post from Dallas, chose the Crimson and Cream over Texas, Ole Miss, North Carolina and others. The 6-3 forward is currently listed as the No. 24 post (61
st overall) in the latest ASGR rankings for the 2022 class. A product of Duncanville High School, Johnson will arrive in Norman as a prospect with a unique ability to facilitate on offense and anchor the paint on the other end.

REYNA SCOTT | NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. | 5-9 | GUARD
Scott joins the Sooners from New York City and calls Harlem home. A 2019 Adidas All-American, Scott will bring toughness to the Oklahoma backcourt. She owns a number of accolades including a CHSAA first-team All-League selection in 2019 and an appearance on the SLAAM Basketball Top 20 list.
The Sooners will welcome the four in the fall of 2022 in anticipation for the 2022-23 season.
Oklahoma opened its season with a thrilling 73-71 win at South Dakota on Tuesday night, snapping the Coyotes' 20-game home winning streak and notching with first win of the Baranczyk era. The Sooners will open their home slate Friday, Nov. 12 when they host Arkansas State at 10:30 a.m.
