MEDINAH – Oklahoma women's golf finished the Illini Invitational 10th with a 3-over, 867, while Meagan and
Libby Winans led the OU lineup with a pair an even-par 216s at the Medinah Country Club Tuesday.
The Sooners tallied four birdies in their final two holes to finish in the top 10 with
Hannah Screen and Mikahaela Fortuna each starting and ending their final round with birdies.
The field resumed play Tuesday morning following inclement weather that suspended competition Monday halfway through the second round.
"We are disappointed in our overall finish and not capitalizing on our opportunities," said
Veronique Drouin-Luttrell. "We look forward to learning from this tournament and being better at the Jim West Invitational."
L. Winans fired a 2-under 70 in the second round to move into a tie for second at 5-under. She tallied a 69 to start the tournament on the par-72, 6,579-yard Course No. 2, and finished the tournament even through 54 holes to tie with her sister M. Winans at even-par 216. The sisters finished tied for 27th.
M. Winans and Screen each tallied their best rounds of the tournament in the second round with M. Winans tallying a 2-under 70 and Screen a 1-under 71.
Screen concluded the tournament with a 2-over 218 and was tied for 37th.
Fortuna matched the lowest-final round of the tournament – a 2-under 70. Fortuna tallied four birdies in the final round.
Nina Lang rounded out the OU contingent, and finished with a 8-over 224 in her Oklahoma debut.
The Sooners finished the tournament with seventh-most birdies (41) and were led by M. Winans 12.
