NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's basketball team heads to Waco Saturday for its second meeting with a top-25 opponent this week. The game at No. 9/9 Baylor will tip at 7 p.m. CT.

Saturday's game will be available for streaming on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with John Morris and Jim Haller on the call.Ā 

The contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KOKC 1420 AM in Oklahoma City; KREF 99.3 FM/1400 AM in Norman; TuneIn radio App) with Brian Brinkley calling the action.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOWĀ 

  • The Oklahoma women's basketball team is on the road Saturday for its second straight meeting with a top-25 opponent as the Sooners head to No. 9/9 Baylor.

  • Baylor leads the all-time series between the teams 30-26 and holds a 14-10 advantage in Waco. A win in Saturday's matchup would be OU's first against the Lady Bears in 10 meetings and OU's first in Waco since 2009.

  • OU took No. 24 Iowa State to the wire in its last outing, narrowly falling to the Cyclones 64-63 on Tuesday in Ames. Taylor Robertson led the way for the Sooners with 26 points on eight made 3-pointers. Robertson was just one trey shy of tying the OU single-game record she holds.

  • Junior Madi Williams is quickly approaching 1,000 career points. The junior has tallied a total of 981 points headed into Saturday's game and has scored 149 this season.

  • As a team, Oklahoma is shooting 46.1% (236-for-514) from the floor this season to rank third in field goal percentage among Big 12 teams. The Sooners lead the league in 3FG% at 39.1% (79-for-202).Ā  Three players are averaging points in double figures: Madi Williams (21.3), Gabby Gregory (16.2) and Taylor Robertson (15.6).

WILLIAMS APPROACHING 1,000

Junior Madi Williams is approaching 1,000 career points. illiams has tallied 982 in her time at OU headed
into Saturday's game. Williams is averaging 21.3 points per game this season, headlined by a record-breaking 45-point outing against West Virginia on Jan. 3.

When she hits the milestone, Williams will become the 38th player in program history to join the 1,000 points club and will be the third member of the 2020-21 roster with a place there. Senior Ana Llanusa and junior Taylor Robertson both reached their 1,000th career points milestones in 2019-20.

BOARDING UP

Mandy Simpson leads the team in rebounds with 7.9 per game to rank eighth among Big 12 players.The senior grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds Tuesday at Iowa State and has collected double-digit rebounds in four contests this season.

Her 7.9 RPG this season are above her career average and single-season best; Simpson's career average is 5.5 RPG, and she finished the 2019-20 season with a career best 6.9 RPG

KEEP ME IN, COACH!

Sophomore Gabby Gregory leads the Big 12 conference in minutes per game with an average 38.3 while junior Taylor Robertson is third at 36.76.

Gregory's 38.3 MPG rank 10th nationally and first among Power Five Players. The Tulsa, Okla., native has amassed a total of 383:01 minutes this season.

Gregory has played all 40 minutes of six of OU's 10 contests, including five of the last six outings. Robertson has played a total of 367:53 minutes this season with five 40-minute games, including the last two back-to-back.

RAINING 3S

As a team, Oklahoma leads the Big 12 conference in 3-point field goal percentage (39.1), a mark that is also good for 11th nationally. OU is third among Power Five teams behind Texas A&M (39.9 3FG%) and Maryland (39.6 3FG%). OU is averaging 7.9 treys per game to rank second among Big 12 teams and 50th in Division I basketball.

Junior Taylor Robertson leads nation from beyond the arc with an average 4.00 3s per game. She is shooting 47.1% (40-for-85) from deep this season to rank 24th in the NCAA and sixth in the Power Five.
