Big 12 Announces Revised Soccer Schedule

NORMAN — The Big 12 Conference announced its revised 2020 soccer schedule Tuesday, a slate that has Oklahoma playing nine conference games beginning Sept. 11 against Oklahoma State.

Each Big 12 team will play a single round-robin schedule, with the season running through Nov. 6. Teams are not permitted to play any non-conference opponents in the fall and make-up matches are permissible after Nov. 6 if necessary.

Led by first-year head coach Mark Carr, the Sooners return 22 student-athletes, including five seniors, with playing experience for 2020.

"It's exciting for our team to see a confirmed schedule," Carr said. "We know that the Big 12 Conference is one of the elite conferences in the country and there will be no easy games."

Along with a wealth of returners, OU welcomes three transfers and seven freshmen to the team.

"Over the last 3-4 weeks, our players have been working hard to develop and improve themselves," Carr added. "It's nice for us to now have a date on the calendar to aim for."

The Sooners finished their 2019 campaign 8-9-3 and graduated a decorated senior class that included four-time All-Big 12 honoree Kaylee Dao.
