Bennett, Graham Named Freshman All-Americans

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma freshmen Jake Bennett and Peyton Graham were honored as Freshmen All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the publication announced.

Bennett, a Bixby, Okla., product, went 3-0 with a 0.75 ERA in three starts, allowing just six hits and three walks with 19 strikeouts in 12.0 innings. He was perfect in four innings with nine strikeouts against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, won his first road start at UT Arlington with four shutout innings and allowed only one run in the shortened season.

Graham, a native of Waxahachie, Texas, started all 18 games this season at third base. He ranked 15th nationally in doubles (8), 45th in stolen bases (8), 49th in runs (19) and 55th in total bases (41). He was 8 of 9 in stolen bases, had multiple hits in half of his games (nine) and ended the season on a six-game hitting streak. Graham was named Big 12 Player of the Week on March 9, becoming the first Oklahoma freshman to be named Big 12 Player of the Week since Hunter Lockwood in 2012.

The Sooners completed the abbreviated 2020 season with a 14-4 record and ranked as high as No. 9 in the national polls.
