NORMAN – Seven University of Oklahoma men's gymnasts were recognized as Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic selections, the conference announced Thursday.
Sophomores Alan Camillus, Josh Corona, David Sandro, juniors Spencer Goodell, Morgan Seyler and seniors Mason Menser and Matt Wenske were all honored by the conference.
In addition to MPSF honors, all seven of OU's MPSF all-academic student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Big 12 At-Large Team late last week.
To qualify as an MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete, gymnasts must maintain a 3.00 or better cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore academically.
The Sooners claimed their ninth consecutive and 19th overall MPSF conference title last Saturday against No. 3 Stanford, No. 11 Cal and No. 14 Air Force.
OU turns its attention to the 2021 NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., April 16-17. The Sooners will compete in the afternoon session of the qualifying round on Friday, April 16 against No. 4 Nebraska, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 8 Illinois, No. 9 Navy and No. 12 William & Mary. The team finals will be Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. CT.
