Volleyball Signs Guewe Diouf for 2020

April 17, 2020 | Volleyball

NORMAN - Oklahoma volleyball head coach Lindsey Gray-Walton announced Friday the signing of Guewe Diouf to a National Letter of Intent for the 2020 season.

Diouf will join a stellar group of student-athletes who signed during the early signing period: Tyler Alcorn, Samantha Anthony and Kelsey Carrington.

"We're fired up about the addition of Guewe to complete our 2020 class," Gray-Walton said. "She brings a level of physicality, power and internal drive that aligns with our goals to become a championship program here at Oklahoma. Guewe's international prep career has prepared her as a player that could make immediate impacts on our program. A true competitor, Guewe makes those around her better and we are excited to welcome the entire Diouf family to our Sooner Family."

A 5-11 outside hitter, Diouf hails from Marignane, France, where she has extensive international experience. She played for the U19/U20 French National Team at the 2018 European Championships and competed at the 2019 European Volleyball Championship.

Diouf is the daughter of Misenga and Dominique Diouf and plans to major in pre-law.

"I chose OU because of the great academics and athletics," she said. "Through multiple conversations, coach Lindsey Gray-Walton and the rest of the coaching staff knew how to translate the spirit of OU to me. I am so excited to wear the Crimson and Cream and play for Oklahoma."
