NQS BREAKDOWN
The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is ranked No. 1 in the nation for the ninth consecutive week. Beginning last week, rankings are now determined by national qualifying scores (NQS). NQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition at six campus sites on April 2-4. OU leads the way with an NQS of 198.080, followed by Florida with a mark of 197.880. UCLA and Utah remained in third and fourth with marks of 197.425 and 197.335, respectively. Michigan is the newcomer to the top five this season with a 197.285. Additionally, the Sooners rank in the top three on all four events, including the top spot on vault and bars with a 49.585 on vault and a 49.550 on bars. The Sooners rank second on beam (49.520) and third on floor (49.505).
TEN POINT "O"
Sophomore Olivia Trautman became the fourth gymnast this season to earn a perfect 10 on vault and the third in the Big 12 when she earned a perfect score on Feb. 21. The sophomore followed up her perfect mark a week later with yet another perfect vault on Feb. 29. Trautman, teammate Maggie Nichols, former club teammate and current Denver gymnast Maddie Karr and LSU's Kiya Johnson as the only athletes to earn a perfect mark on vault. Nichols, Karr and Trautman all have at least two on the event. The sophomore was the first gymnast at OU not named Maggie Nichols to earn a perfect 10 this season.
HOME SWEET HOME

VAULTING TO THE TOP
On Feb. 14, the Sooners vaulted to the top of the OU record books as they posted a 49.775 on vault to set a new program record. The previous record of 49.700 had been untouched since the 2014 season. The Sooners have posted the most scores of 9.9 or better in 2020 with the next closest school at 81 (Florida). TO 198 AND BEYOND
For the third year in a row, the Sooners became the first team in the country to reach a score of 198 or better with a 198.250 on Jan. 17 at Alabama. Of those 37, only 14 have been earned at home with the other 23 all coming at road or neutral sites. Nine of those scores have come in regional or national competition, including the 198.475 mark at the 2019 NCAA Athens Regional which is the top road score in NCAA history. In 2018, OU set the NCAA record with 10 scores of 198 or better in a single season. OU has more scores of 198 in the last five years than any other program has in their entire history.
