Oklahoma won its fifth straight Big 12 Championship, 13th overall, and advanced to the College Football Playoff for the fourth time in five years.

Oklahoma claimed its fifth consecutive Big 12 championship with a 30-23 overtime win vs. Baylor in the league title game. Prior to this past season, the last Power Five program to win five straight outright conference titles was Alabama from 1971 to '75.

Jalen Hurts became OU's 10th Heisman Trophy finalist in the last 20 years (the next highest total during the period is six by Alabama). Hurts finished as Heisman runner-up after leading the nation in yards per pass attempt (11.3) and setting OU single-season quarterback records for rushing yards (1,298) and points scored (126).

A league-high 11 Sooners were named to the All-Big 12 First and Second Teams. Creed Humphrey was named co-offensive lineman of the year, Jalen Hurts was offensive newcomer of the year and LaRon Stokes was defensive newcomer of the year.

OU won 12 games for the third consecutive season under head coach Lincoln Riley, upping the program's number of 12-plus-win seasons to nine (all since 2000). 2019 also marked the Sooners' nation-leading 40th season with at least 10 wins.

Linebacker Kenneth Murray started all 14 contests, giving the junior starts in each of his 42 career games. The first-team All-Big 12 selection led OU with 102 tackles and 17 tackles for loss in 2019.

Redshirt freshman kicker Gabe Brkic was the only FBS kicker in 2019 who made all of his field goal (17) and PAT (52) tries. He became the first Sooner to finish a season with a 1.000 field goal percentage.

The Sooners improved 76 spots from 2018 in their total defense national ranking. After finishing 114th in total defense in 2018 (453.8 ypg), OU ranked 38th in 2019 (356.4 ypg) under first-year coordinator Alex Grinch.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb became OU's 82nd consensus All-American, earning first-team honors from the AP, FWAA, Sporting News and Walter Camp Foundation.
