Replacing one of the most decorated senior classes in OU gymnastics history, the Sooners responded with an impressive start to the season. Retaining a top-three ranking throughout the season, the 2020 squad upheld the Gym U standard.

Oklahoma head coach Mark Williams picked up his 500th career win when the Sooners picked up four victories at the season-opening Rocky Mountain Open on Jan. 11. After 21 seasons at the helm for OU, Williams holds a career record of 506-39 (.928) and has coached OU student-athletes to an impressive 225 All-America honors.

The Sooners stood at No. 2 in the national standings when the season came to an unexpected end with a four-score average of 410.133. They finished in the top-four on four events, finishing first on floor, second on vault, third on parallel bars and fourth on high bar.

Sooners claimed 19 individual event titles in 2020, including six by both junior Gage Dyer and sophomore Vitaliy Guimaraes. OU student-athletes claimed five of the six event titles at the Rocky Mountain Open and swept all six events against Iowa on Feb. 8.

OU posted its highest mark of the season against Ohio State and Arizona State on Jan. 18 in Columbus, Ohio. Oklahoma claimed all six event titles at the meet, and its gymnasts collected five individual titles.

Sophomore Vitaliy Guimaraes and junior Gage Dyer combined to earn five Regular Season All-America honors. Dyer earned the accolade on floor exercise, p-bars and high bar, while Guimaraes was selected on floor and vault. The duo's honors bring Oklahoma to a total of 328 All-Americans in program history and 233 since 2000.

With a 411.600-403.250 victory over then-No. 9 Iowa on Feb. 8, the Sooners extended their McCasland Field House winning streak to 58. OU has not lost in their home facility since falling to Ohio State on March 3, 2007.

The Sooners said farewell to the four members of the class of 2020 this season. Collyn Kellogg, Randy Scharnhorst, Tanner Justus and Grant Kell penned a letter to Sooner Nation after their careers in crimson and cream came to an abrupt conclusion.
