Sooners Upset No. 46 Purdue for Coach Cohen's 50th Win

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team defeated No. 46 Purdue, 6-1, Saturday in West Lafayette, which secured Coach Audra Cohen's 50th OU win.

With the win, OU improves to 4-3 on the season while Purdue moves to 5-7.

The Sooners started off strong and won the doubles point. First to finish was Carmen Corley and Ivana Corley defeated Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Zala Dovnik 6-2 on the premier court.

On the third court, Camila Romero and Martina Capurro clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Alex Sabe and Ena Babic. When play was halted, No. 14 Jasmine Asghar and Oleksandra Korashvili were tied 4-4 with Seira Shimizu and Nikol Dobrilova on the second court.

In singles, Ivana Corley was the first to finish and came out on top with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Csilla Fodor on the sixth court.

Next to finish was Oleksandra Korashvili with a 6-3, 6-3 defeat over Alex Sabe at the No. 2 line. For the Sooner's fourth point, Marcelina Podlinksa was victorious with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Nikol Dobrilova.

When play continued, Carmen Corley finished with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Seira Shimizu on the third court. For the Sooners sixth point of the match, Martina Capurro was also victorious with a 6-2, 7-5 defeat of Ena Babic on the premier court.

In a tough battle, Camila Romero fell to Zala Dovnik 7-5, 2-6, 8-10 at the No. 5 line.
