NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma soccer team dropped its match Friday night at Baylor in overtime by a score of 1-0.
The Sooners and Bears battled for 90 scoreless minutes of regulation before Baylor's Olivia Mack found the back of the net off a few deflections in the box for the golden goal and BU victory in the 98th minute.
OU put four shots on goal to Baylor's three in the match and had two looks in overtime by junior Lauren Tovy in the 93rd minute but her shots in the box were saved by the Baylor keeper.
Freshman Abby Mitchell played a solid game for the Sooners, recording two shots, both being on goal. Senior Yuuka Kurosaki fired two shots in the match, while juniors Megan Reilly, Cameron Tharp and Olivia Odle each had one look a piece.
Senior Nikki Panas recorded two saves in goal for the Sooners and stopped plenty of Baylor opportunities throughout the match.
The match marks OU's fifth loss by a single goal this season and makes three consecutive matches that ended 1-0 in the opponents favor.
OU returns to John Crain Field in Norman for its final home match of the season on Thursday, Nov. 12 against in-state rival Oklahoma State. The game is set for a 7 p.m. CT kick and will be available to watch on FOX Sports Oklahoma.
