NORMAN – Oklahoma outside hitter
Guewe Diouf has been named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season, the conference announced Tuesday.
This is the fourth honor for Diouf in 2020 after earning a trio of Rookie of the Week honors. She is the first Sooner to win four awards in a season since 2013 when Sallie McLaurin was named Offensive Player of the Week five times.
Diouf totaled 52 kills for a 6.5 per set average and hit .368 in a split against West Virginia. She set the OU record for kills in a four-set match with 28 last Friday, topping the previous mark of 27 in 2018.
The Marignane, France, native has notched double-digit kills in 11 of 12 matches and reached the 20-kill mark four times. The freshman also registered her third double-double of the season in the second match against WVU with 12 digs.
