NORMAN – Oklahoma outside hitter Guewe Diouf has been named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced Tuesday.
Diouf was named the Rookie of the Week on Sept. 29 and Oct. 19. She is the first Sooner to win three awards in a season since 2018 when Keyton Kinley was named Defensive Player of the Week three times. Diouf is the first to earn three Rookie of the Week awards since Julia Doyle in 2012.
The Marignane, France, native tallied 39 kills on the weekend, including a career-high 23 against Texas Tech on Nov. 12. The following night she notched 16 kills to give her a weekend average of 5.57 kills per set. Diouf also added 14 digs on the weekend.
Diouf has now tallied double-digit kills in nine of 10 matches this season and has reached the 20-kill mark twice.
Diouf and the Sooners will take on West Virginia Thursday and Friday inside McCasland Field House.
