NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head baseball coach Skip Johnson announced the signing of 13 high school seniors and two junior college transfers on Wednesday, Nov. 11, the first day of the November early signing period. OU added junior college transfer pitcher Cooper Randall on Nov. 12 and outfielder Mario Williams on Dec. 16.
The new class of Sooners for the fall of 2021 is comprised of nine pitchers (Randall, Keegan Allen, Bode Brooks, Aaron Calhoun, Carter Campbell, Luc Fladda, Brayden Luikart, Blake Priest and David Sandlin), one catcher (Landon Boyd), four infielders (Wallace Clark, Brock Daniels, Max McGwire and Jackson Nicklaus) and four outfielders (Luikart, Adam Moser and John Spikerman; four with the addition of Williams). Four members of the signing class are from Oklahoma, four hail from Texas and three are from Missouri while Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas and Washington D.C. each have one representative.
"We signed a class that will help us build on the strengths of our program," Johnson said. "Led by recruiting coordinator Clay Overcash and assistant coach Clay Van Hook, our staff did an outstanding job shaping this group. These athletes bring a lot of athleticism, speed, power and arm strength in all areas, and should help us continue to compete at a high level in the future. We're excited to officially welcome them to the Sooner family."
Of the 17 members of the early signing class, nine are ranked among the top 15 prospects in their respective states (12 among the top 30) and 13 are rated among the top 500 players in the nation (three among the top 115), according to Perfect Game.
