October 29, 2020 | Baseball

NORMAN — The Oklahoma baseball team will play a three-game fall intrasquad Boomer Sooner World Series beginning Friday, Oct. 30 at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The scrimmages will not be open to the public, but will be streamed live for free via SoonerSports.tv. The Sooners, split into Boomer (crimson) and Sooner (gray) squads, will compete in three games to close out fall workouts.

OU will open the series at 3:35 p.m. Friday, with the second game set for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The final contest will be played at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Due to COVID-19 and in accordance with medical guidelines and university protocols, fans will not be permitted inside L. Dale Mitchell Park for the fall intrasquad scrimmages.

The Sooners are in their fourth year under head coach Skip Johnson. OU returns 24 players from the 2020 team and welcomed 18 newcomers to the roster. Included among the returners are 11 position players that saw action in eight of the 18 games last spring and 11 pitchers that made at least three appearances last season. The newcomer group features eight transfers and 10 freshmen.
