NORMAN – The No. 30 Oklahoma women's tennis team fell to No. 6 Texas 6-1 Friday at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
Jasmine Asghar came away with a singles win and Oleksandra Korashvili and Kianah Motosono got a win on court three, but OU (13-5, 3-2) fell to the Longhorns.
The Sooners gave up the doubles point to open the match. On court three, Korashvili and Motosono made quick work of Fernanda Labrana and Bojana Markovic 6-1.
No. 78 Camila Romero and Martina Capurro fell to Bianca Turati and Anna Turati 6-2 on court two and Jasmine Asghar and Ivana Corley were defeated by Petra Granic and Tijana Spasojevic 6-3 at the top spot.
Jasmine Asghar put the Sooners on the board with a 6-4, 6-0 upset victory over No. 52 Granic. After trailing 4-1 in the first set, Asghar won 11 straight games to take the first 6-4 before rolling through the second without giving up a game. The victory was good for Asghar's second over a ranked opponent this season.
At the top spot, Korashvili suffered her first loss in Big 12 play to No. 75 Bianca Turati, 6-1, 6-3
Capurro fell to No. 42 Anna Turati 6-0, 6-0 on court two. Romero dropped to at the No. 6 line and Corley was defeated by Katie Poulta 6-2, 6-2.

The Sooners return to the court Sunday to host Baylor at 11 a.m. CT. The contest will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
