FIRST PITCH
• Oklahoma returns home to begin a four-game homestand against UT Arlington on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
• The Sooners will host Missouri State for a three-game series Friday through Sunday at Mitchell Park.
• Oklahoma leads the all-time series with UTA 21-12. The Sooners won 11-5 last year in Arlington.
• Oklahoma is at least 13-3 to start a season for the second time in three years. In 2017 – when Skip Johnson joined OU as pitching coach – the team started the season 14-2.
• Sophomore Levi Prater was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week after tossing eight shutout innings with nine strikeouts in Sunday's win over Rice.
• OU ranks 15th in the country with a 2.60 team ERA. The Sooners rank 11th in the country in triples (7), third in shutouts (4) and fifth in double plays (19).
• Sophomore first baseman Tyler Hardman ranks 15th nationally in RBIs (22), 52nd in total bases (39) and 58th in home runs (4). Junior Jason Ruffcorn ranks 39th in saves (3) and 39th in appearances (8).
• OU leads the Big 12 in ERA (2.60) and walks per nine innings (3.36). Hardman is tied for the league lead in RBIs (22) and is third in hits (22). Brandon Zaragoza is tied for fifth in the Big 12 in runs scored (16). Prater is fourth in opponent batting average (.198) and tied for fifth in strikeouts (25).

LAST WEEK
• OU completed a 2-2 week, taking two of three games in the weekend series at Rice.
• OU rebounded from two straight losses (7-2 Wednesday at Dallas Baptist and 8-1 Friday night at Rice) with two emphatic victories. Friday was just the third loss of the season, but Saturday presented the first challenge of playing the day after a loss. The Sooners fought off the Owls to earn the 17-8 victory, followed by the 6-0 victory Sunday.
• The Sooners scored 13 unanswered runs to win Saturday, then shut out Rice on Sunday, outscoring the Owls 19-0 over the final 13 innings.
• In its nine-run eighth inning on Saturday, OU sent 15 batters to the plate, scoring nine runs on four hits and seven walks in an at bat that lasted close to 45 minutes and broke open a tie game.
ABOUT THE SOONERS
• OU is in its second year under the direction of head coach Skip Johnson. Johnson is 51-28 as OU head coach, and led the Sooners to an NCAA regional appearance last season.
• OU is batting .278 as a team and averaging 6.6 runs per game, with 29 doubles, seven triples and nine home runs. The Sooners allow opponents 2.9 runs per game .232 batting average.
• The OU bullpen has pitched in 55.0 innings this season, allowing 20 runs and 46 hits while striking out 58 batters.
• The starting pitchers have a 2.22 ERA and have struck out 81 batters and allowed 77 hits in 85.0 innings.
• Senior Brylie Ware had a big weekend, driving in five runs on Saturday and batting .474 with four runs scored. His two-run single tied the game 8-8 and his leadoff home run in the eighth inning put the Sooners in front sparking a nine-run frame.
• Sophomore Levi Prater was excellent in the series-clinching win on Sunday, matching his career high with nine strikeouts over 8.0 shutout innings. He only allowed two runners to reach second base, and struck out three batters in the seventh and sat down the side in order in the eighth.
• Sophomore Cade Cavalli did damage with his bat this weekend, hitting a home run on Saturday and driving in four runs. The solo homer was his first of the season, and he hit a two-run double in the first inning Sunday to set the tone for that game. Cavalli now has a five-game hitting streak and a seven-game reached base streak.
• Junior catcher Brady Lindsly hit his second home run of the season Sunday, a three-run shot in the eighth inning that broke open a 5-0 lead. He drove in five runs last week. He hit a sacrifice fly on Wednesday and walked in a run on Saturday.
• Freshman Jaret Godman pitched 4.1 innings over two outings and allowed one run, two hits and struck out four batters. He threw two hitless innings in Wednesday's start and pitched another 2.1 on Friday night.
• Sophomore Jordan Vujovich has reached base in 10 straight games. He has collected nine walks and seven hits in that span. Junior Brady Harlan is on a four-game hitting streak, and is 6-for-14 (.429) in that span.
• In four career starts, freshman Ben Abram has pitched 15.0 innings and allowed three earned runs, 12 hits and no walks, and has struck out 16 batters.
