OU and Tulsa Announce Three-Game Series

November 08, 2019 | Football

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma Vice President and Athletics Director Joe Castiglione announced Friday that OU has scheduled a three-game football series with the University of Tulsa. The Sooners will play at TU on Sept. 16, 2023, and host the Golden Hurricane in Norman on Aug. 31, 2030, and Sept. 3, 2033.

"We're excited about another series with Tulsa," said Castiglione, who has watched the Sooners play nine games against TU since his arrival in Norman in 1998. "We have always had great respect for their school and football program, and are happy when we can play in front of our fans and alumni who live in the Tulsa area. It's important to us to have a presence there whenever possible."

Oklahoma owns a 20-7-1 all-time record against Tulsa and has won the last nine meetings and 14 of the last 15 dating back to 1979. The Sooners are 13-3-1 in the series in Norman and 7-3 in Tulsa.

The programs last met in 2015 in Norman when OU posted a 52-38 win under head coach Bob Stoops.
