NORMAN – The Oklahoma softball team is back in action Wednesday night as it hosts North Texas at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be the Sooners' pink contest for breast cancer awareness.
Last Time Out
In the opening weekend of the fall season, the Sooners tallied four wins by a combined score of 53-2. OU took out Trinity Valley Community College 18-0; Seward County College 12-0; Seminole State 11-1; Connors State 11-1.
Vs. the Mean Green
The teams last met in March of 2018 in Norman. The No. 2/2 Sooners run-ruled North Texas 8-0 in five innings as the Sooners recorded a no-hitter, good for the 54
th no-hitter in program history. The win was OU's seventh-straight game with at least eight runs and 13th run-rule win of the season.
Admission Info
Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate Wednesday. General admission seats cost $8 while youth (3-18) and senior citizen (55+) tickets cost $5. Children ages 3 and under and OU students with ID are free.
The OU Athletics clear bag policy and walk-through metal detectors will be in effect for all fall softball games. More information can be found here.
Fall Food Drive
During the fall season, the Sooners will hold a food drive for the OU Food Pantry. Fans are encouraged to bring the following items to donate at the gate: pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit, juice boxes, condiments, canned soup, Thanksgiving items (e.g. stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce), canned vegetables (except for corn and green beans), mac and cheese, beans, rice, peanut butter, granola bars, and mixes such as cake or pancake mix.
Fans will receive free Whataburger coupons with food donation.
The 2019-20 Sooners
The Sooners reached their 13th Women's College World Series in 2019, finishing the season as the national runner-up with a 57-6 record. OU completed Big 12 play with an 18-0 mark to become the first Big 12 team to go undefeated in back-to-back seasons. The Sooners clinched their eighth consecutive regular season title in 2019.
