NORMAN – A total of 17 Oklahoma baseball games have been selected for national or regional television for the 2019 season, it was announced Wednesday.
ESPN will nationally televise the Sooners' May 5 home game against Texas Tech and road contest at Baylor on April 14 on ESPNU. Additionally, Fox College Sports will televise the May 3 series opener against Texas Tech. Fourteen other contests are slated for Fox Sports Oklahoma, FSOK Plus and SoonerSports.tv broadcasts by Sooner Sports TV.
Oklahoma's first televised home game of the season will be March 12 against UT Arlington on Fox Sports Oklahoma. SSTV will also broadcast two games of the series against Missouri State (March 16 and 17), the March 23 game against Kansas and May 4 contest against Texas Tech on FSOK. FSOK-plus will televise OU home games against Kansas (March 24), TCU (April 5), Texas Southern (April 9 and 10) and Oklahoma State (May 12).
An additional four SSTV broadcasts will be premium SoonerSports.tv features, which will be complete multi-camera broadcasts with on-air talent. Those contests include: Missouri State (March 15), Kansas (March 22), Oral Roberts (April 2) and TCU (April 7). The remaining 11 home games, including Oklahoma's season-opening series against Cal Poly (Feb. 15-17) will be streamed on SoonerSports.tv with audio provided from the Sooner Sports Network's radio call.
From the press box at L. Dale Mitchell Park, veteran Sooner Sports personality Chad McKee will anchor the coverage as the television play-by-play voice of the Sooners. He will be joined by Major League Baseball veteran and former OU pitcher George Frazier, who will also get spot duty on play-by-play assignments.
