NORMAN – Oklahoma men's gymnastics junior Yul Moldauer was named NCAA and conference gymnast of the week for his performance against Illinois last Saturday.

This marks Moldauer's fourth MPSF gymnast-of-the-week nod and his third NCAA weekly honor this season.

The junior won event titles in all three events he competed in last weekend, placing first on pommel horse (14.700), still rings (14.650) and parallel bars (14.850).

Moldauer's performance led OU to a victory in its first away meet in over a month as the Sooners defeated Illinois 412.300-399.700.

In this week's rankings, Moldauer holds the top average on still rings (14.650) and parallel bars (14.933) and ranks fourth on pommel horse (14.400).

Throughout this season, Moldauer has added to his  long list of career accomplishments. In addition to winning MPSF Gymnast of the Week four times and NCAA Gymnast of the Week three times, the Arvada, Colo., native has collected a team-leading 15 event titles through six meets. He won his second straight American Cup Championship in February, becoming the first gymnast to win back-to-back since former Sooner Jonathon Horton did in 2006 and 2007.

OU travels to Columbus, Ohio for the final meet of the regular season as it takes on Ohio State on Friday, March 23 at 5 p.m CT.
