NORMAN – Oklahoma freshman guard Taylor Robertson was named the Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

In her collegiate debut, Robertson helped the Sooners to a 90-83 victory over Western Kentucky in their season opener last Friday. Robertson buried eight treys and finished with 24 points off the bench against the Lady Toppers, setting the OU freshman record for 3-pointers in a single game.

The McPherson, Kan., native finished 8-of-14 from beyond the arc and added in six rebounds in 28 minutes of action off the bench. Robertson's eight 3-pointers were one shy of tying the program's single-game record.

Robertson's 24 points were the most by an OU freshman in a season opener since 2005, when Courtney Paris recorded 24 points against Wisconsin-Milwaukee in her Sooner debut.

Robertson shared Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors with Baylor's NaLyssa Smith, who averaged 15.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

OU returns to action on Thursday against Northwestern State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT inside Lloyd Noble Center. Tickets are available here.
