NORMAN –The Oklahoma soccer team will look to continue its success in Big 12 play when TCU comes to Norman Friday. The Sooners and Horned Frogs will kickoff at 8 p.m. CT. at John Crain Field. As part of Fan Appreciation Day, admission is free.
Friday's match will air through Sooner Sports TV on Fox Sports Oklahoma Plus. Chad McKee and former OU soccer player Molly Ritchie will call the action, and Megan McDonald will be on the sidelines.
GAMEDAY STORYLINES
CONFERENCE PLAY CONTINUES
The Sooners are currently sitting in second place in the conference after picking up their second conference win on Sunday. With a 2-1-1 record, the Sooners are just behind West Virginia (3-0-0) with a total of seven points. OU is unbeaten in its last three Big 12 games, picking up wins over Kansas State and Oklahoma State and tying Texas Tech. The lone loss in conference play this season was a double-overtime loss to Kansas in the Big 12 opener.
DOWN GO THE COWGIRLS
Trailing 1-0 late in the second half, the Oklahoma soccer team used a pair of goals to take down No. 12 Oklahoma State, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in the second Bedlam game of the season. Senior Emily Parker netted the equalizer for the Sooners with her second goal of the season and junior Kristina O'Donnell lifted OU to victory with her first goal of the year and first career game-winner.
Four of the last five Bedlam games have been decided by a score of 2-1 with the Cowgirls earning the victory in the last four. After dropping the non-conference meeting between the two teams on Aug. 19, the Sooners claimed their first win over OSU since 2016. The win marked the first victory over a ranked opponent since defeating then-No. 25 Loyola Marymount on Aug. 21, 2016 in Norman.
FANTASTIC FRESHMEN
The 2018 freshman class has made an incredible impact since arriving on campus. Hailey Davidson leads the way with four goals, while Megan Reilly and Lauren Tovy have each added one goal apiece. Reilly and classmate Olivia Smith have each recorded a pair of assists and Davidson has added one of her own. The freshmen are responsible for 30 percent of shots taken this season (38 of 125) and 30 percent of shots on goal (19 of 65). Of the 11 members of the 2018 signing class, six have seen action this season.
RECORD PACE
Senior Marissa McMahand has been an important piece to this year's squad, assisting on six goals this season. McMahand tied the school record with three assists in one game against Illinois State on Aug. 24. She is now just two assists away from tying the single-season record of eight, set in 2005 by Lauren MacIver. McMahand's six this season is currently tied for fourth in program history.
OFFENSIVE OUTBURST
The Sooners have had quite the offensive turnaround from the 2017 season, almost doubling their season total from a year ago in just 13 games. Through 13 games OU has posted 23 goals for a 1.77 goals per game mark. In 2017, the Sooners tallied just 13 goals all season. The offensive surge has been primarily due to five goals from Kaylee Dao and four goals each from Hailey Davidson and Ivanna Rivas. OU has posted more than three goals in a game twice this season, earning a 7-1 victory over Illinois State and a 4-1 victory over San Francisco.
SCOUTING REPORT
TCU
TCU is 8-3-2 on the season and 1-2-1 in Big 12 play. The Horned Frogs picked up their first conference win of the season on Sunday, defeating No. 6 Texas, 1-0, in Fort Worth. TCU had been shut out in two of its three previous conference games before earning the win. The win also marked the first loss of the season for Texas.
TCU is led offensively by Maddy Warren and Kayla Hill with five goals apiece. Warren has added three assists to lead with team with 13 points. Twelve different players have contributed at least one goal this season. In goal, Emily Alvarado and Katie Lund have split time, each tallying three shutouts and combining for one. Alvarado has made 30 saves this season and is 4-3-0 on the year. Lund has 15 saves and is 4-0-2.

FAN INFORMATION
The University of Oklahoma joined professional sports leagues and many of its college peers this fall introducing a clear bag policy and walk-through metal detectors at home football games and all other home athletic events. It is recommended that fans allow extra time for stadium entry.
The approved clear plastic bag size is a maximum of 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag. Stadium policy will allow non-transparent clutch purses that are no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Bags that are necessary for medical equipment will be searched at marked medical lanes at the gate. No other bags or purses including diaper bags will be permitted and the limit on bags is one per person.
Fans will empty only cell phones, keys and metal objects larger than keys from their pockets before screening. Medical lanes will be marked around the stadium for fans who require alternate screening methods.
