NORMAN — The Oklahoma volleyball team kicks off the second half of Big 12 play on Wednesday as it heads to Manhattan, Kan., to face RV Kansas State at 7 p.m. CT.
The conference contest is set to be broadcast on Fox College Sports Central and through K-StateHD.TV.
The Sooners used a strong offensive performance to sweep West Virginia 3-0 on Saturday in Norman. OU earned its second straight-set victory of Big 12 play 25-18, 25-12, 25-18 and registered a season-best .410 hitting percentage while holding the Mountaineers at .082.
OU out-killed WVU by a 49-29 clip, led by double-digit performances from Alyssa Enneking (17) and Paige Anderson (12). Sarah Sanders added nine kills on a team-best .600 attack percentage while Anderson hit .550.
Defensively, the Sooners totaled 51 digs to WVU's 35. Libero Keyton Kinley led the match with 21 while Morgan Miller added 10. Additionally, OU out-blocked West Virginia 6.0-3.0.
Sophomore libero Keyton Kinley has been named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week twice in a row, earning the honor on Oct. 15 and Oct. 22. She becomes the first Sooner to earn back-to-back weekly honors since now-senior Audrey Alford did so as Rookie of the Week in 2015. Additionally, Kinley joins Maria Fernanda (2009-12) and Sallie McLaurin (2010-13) as the only Sooners to be named Defensive Player of the Week more than once in their careers.
For the week of Oct. 9-14, Kinley led the league with 51 total digs and 5.67 digs per set. Against No. 4 Texas on Oct. 13, Kinley tallied a career-high 29 digs, the most by one player in a Big 12 match this season. She also registered 22 digs against Texas Tech on Oct. 10, leading the match.
Last week, Kinley registered a conference-best 7.00 digs per set, marking the third straight week she has led the Big 12 in digs per set. She totaled 21 digs in OU's sweep of West Virginia on Saturday. Her 21-dig performance marks the second-most digs in a league match this season behind only her own 23-dig showing against Kansas State earlier this season.
Kinley now leads the Big 12 with 4.82 digs per set in all matches this season. Additionally, she ranks first in the conference with 5.74 digs per set and 178 total digs in league matches.
Senior outside hitter Alyssa Enneking and sophomore setter Kylee McLaughlin have both totaled double-digit double-doubles during the 2018 campaign. Enneking and McLaughlin are the first Sooner duo to have 10 or more double-doubles in one year since Brianne Barker (16) and Caitlin Higgins (11) in 2008.
Enneking leads OU with 12 on the season, all coming with kills and digs. She holds 36 for her career. McLaughlin has registered 10 double-doubles with assists and digs this year, bringing her career total to 25 after she recorded 15 as a freshman at Oregon State.
Enneking and McLaughlin were both named to the 2018 Preseason All-Big 12 Team on June 27.
After opening Big 12 play 0-6, the Wildcats are coming off back-to-back wins against ranked opponents, defeating No. 22 Kansas (3-1) and No. 24 Baylor (3-0). Oklahoma leads the all-time series with K-State 54-33-1 and snapped a six-match losing streak against the Wildcats with a 3-0 sweep of KSU on Sept. 21 in Norman.
Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week Sarah Dixon leads the KSU offense with 11.53 assists per set, while Kylee Zumach is averaging a team-best 3.63 kills per set. Libero Devan Fairfield has registered 3.90 digs per set in 2018, and Macy Flowers paces the team with 1.48 blocks per set.
The Sooners continue their road swing on Saturday as they face No. 8 Texas at 3 p.m. CT in Austin, Texas.
