Kinley Named Defensive Player of the Week

NORMAN — Oklahoma volleyball sophomore Keyton Kinley has been tabbed Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

A 5-5 defensive specialist from Lexington, Ky., Kinley led the league with 51 total digs and 5.67 digs per set last week to become the first Sooner to earn a Big 12 weekly honor since 2016.

Against No. 4 Texas on Saturday, Kinley tallied a career-high 29 digs, the most by one player in a Big 12 match this season. She also registered 22 digs against Texas Tech on Wednesday, leading the match.

Overall, Kinley currently leads the Big 12 with 157 digs and 5.61 digs per set in conference matches this year.

Kinley and the Sooners are back in action on Saturday as they host West Virginia at 1:30 p.m. CT inside McCasland Field House. Tickets are on sale now.
