The No. 11 University of Oklahoma baseball team is on the road all week in non-conference action beginning Tuesday, April 11 at Oral Roberts. The Sooners and Golden Eagles take the field at J.L. Johnson Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. start. Tuesday night's game will be broadcast across the Sooners Sports Network; airing locally on the Sportstalk 1400 AM/99.3 FM. The voice of the Sooners Toby Rowland (play-by-play) will have the call. Video of the game will be streamed on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app for mobile devices. Al Jerkins (pbp) and former Sooner and 10-year MLB veteran George Frazier (color commentary) will broadcast the game.

ABOUT THE SOONERS

Oklahoma dropped its series at Texas over the weekend to move to 27-8 overall and 5-4 in the Big 12. The Sooners fell in the first two games in Austin before salvaging the series with a 2-1 come-from-behind win in Sunday's finale. Senior catcher Renae Martinez followed up his Big 12 Player of the Week honor by .615 (8-for-13) last week to take over the team lead with a .369 batting average. He has homered five rimes with seven doubles and 26 RBI. Sophomore Brylie Ware, who divides his time between first base and designated hitter, is hitting .352; good enough for second on the team. He went 4-for-11 at Texas and owns a team-leading .445 on-base percentage, including a Big 12-leading eight times hit by a pitch. Sophomore outfielder Steele Walker is third with a .346 average and is tied with Martinez and junior second baseman Kyle Mendenhall with a team-leading five home runs. Walker also leads the Sooners with 10 doubles, 32 RBI and 31 runs. For the second week in a row, sophomore right-hander Austin Hansen gets the nod against ORU. Overall, he is 3-0 with a 2.39 earned run average and 21 strikeouts. He went three innings in a short start last week.

ALL-TIME VS. ORU

Oklahoma leads the all-time series with Oral Roberts, 39-33. The Sooners snapped a four-game win-streak for the Golden Eagles in the series late last season. Prior to that, OU had won five in a row in the all-time series. Oral Roberts leads the all-time series, 15-12, when playing in Tulsa. LAST TIME THEY MET

Exactly one week ago, Austin O'Brien returned to the OU lineup from a torn left UCL and hit a game-winning grand slam in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and lead Oklahoma to a 6-2 win over Oral Roberts at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The Golden Eagles scored the first two runs of the night with single tallies in the second and fifth. The Sooners cut the lead in half in the sixth, but left the bases loaded. OU tied the game in the seventh ahead of O'Brien's blast on a double from Steele Walker.

STARTING STRONG

Despite having a 12-game win-streak snapped against Wichita State (3/7), the Sooners' 27-8 record is the best since a 28-8 record in 2013. The Sooners' win-streak earlier this season was the best under head coach Pete Hughes and the longest at OU since a 13-game win-streak in 2013.
